Counselor’s Corner

Hello and welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Kati Telford. I am your new School Counselor at Specht Elementary. My family and I moved to Texas from Wisconsin four years ago. I have three wonderful daughters who are 11 (twins) and 8 years old. In Wisconsin I was a School Counselor for 10 years (5 years at an elementary school and 5 years at a high school). This past school year I was an elementary School Counselor in NEISD. I am so excited to be at Specht and looking forward to a fun year of learning together..

The Comal ISD school counseling  program focuses on social and emotional learning, conflict resolution, college and career awareness, and leadership development. A variety of counseling services are offered at Specht Elementary. I’ll be working with students individually, in small groups, as well as providing guidance lessons in classrooms. Students may visit me for any reason. Students can be referred to the counselor by their teacher or a parent or by themselves.  If an issue should arise at home where you feel your child may benefit from additional support, please do not hesitate to contact me.
